11+ Summer Courses
We recognise that the Summer school holiday at the end of Year 5 is an important time for those taking 11+ exams at the beginning of Year 6. Our intensive week long courses run for the duration of the holidays, helping students to prepare for their exams.
Each week long course is adapted to suit the students taking part. Different classwork, homework and test material will be used each week to allow students to attend for multiple weeks, if they desire.
Course Content
Monday to Wednesday: we will cover maths, English, verbal reasoning and CEM style papers. (Non verbal reasoning will be addressed where necessary). We will work on the most challenging comprehension texts, as well as writing tasks and difficult worded maths problems.
We will teach the most efficient methods for solving both traditional style verbal reasoning questions (to include coding and sequences) and CEM style questions (including synonyms, antonyms cloze and shuffled sentences).
Thursday and Friday: Mock exam day and analysis of timed papers. Papers will be selected to test in the same style as the schools each student is applying for.
Reports
At the end of the week, each student will receive a report, including an assessment of their strengths and weaknesses and ranked results from the mock exam day.
